A flattering, and somewhat deceiving, shot of me in my favourite black bouse, pink jacket and stone-age necklace ;) Beeming with joy at Stanley Market, HK in November last year while on holiday with Becky. It was early winter then and really cool to dine al-fresco in 'air-condition'. My perfect kinda hang-out.

My Big 30

From this year on and for the next 10 years *shudder*, I'm going to have to get used to the digit 3 as a 'prefix' of sort when it comes to my age. Yup, scary but it's true...I've hit 30 today.

Happy Birthday to me! :)

Honestly, I don't feel 30 (stuck in a moment of 24...heh). And what does it feel to be? Most of my peers have already grown, apart from careers, to be wives and mothers. And it becomes apparent when our usual social activities begin to make way for husbands, in-laws and babies. Conversational topics have broadened as well to include more on adult relationships, wedding plans, pregnancies, financial planning and work issues. Gone are the days when Fanny was just deliriously bitching about Tammy's fashion sense and bad make-up (names are ficticious of course).

Of course, I am neither a wife nor a mum now but I do have genuine interests in what my friends have gone through and will at every stage, be involved and make the effort to stay relevant with them. These, I reckon, are the reasons why I still have my best friends today.

And at 30, I'm counting my blessings and also counting the years of friendship with my closest friends...22 yrs, 17 yrs, 16 yrs, 6 yrs...and I am sure I've already made a couple more recently.

So, thank YOU - friends, colleagues, ex-colleagues who've become my friends - for being a part of my life and share experiences that make me, ME.

Till the next 3, have a great year!
