After all the talk about my best friend's wedding in my previous blogs, the preparation and last minute heartstoppers, the BIG DAY premiered on the 12th of March. It was much fun as it wasn't just a normal wedding...it was themed around a movie premiere - "Mr & Mrs Chong", yup, spoof of the much-talked movie of the sexy and hot Brangelina pair. To keep guests happy and entertained before the dinner (which can be a drag with the latecomers), there was unlimited supply of popcorns and even a Hollywood-styled red carpet, where guests could get Polaroid shots with the poster pic of the celebrity couple. There was much fanfare...and as a fervent observer, it did look like a celebrity event! Everyone was all decked up, women in glitter and men in tux. What made this wedding dinner more significant and it should be so, was that the couple had all their guests as witness to their solemnisation to become husband & wife, Mr & Mrs Chong. It was meaningful. And I felt special, different from the other guests who were seated, to be standing with my best friend on stage in close view of the ceremony and be privileged to see how the couple stole loving glances at each other. Such bliss...Bride and Bridesmaid, yours truly :)
